About the Role
As a Network Ops Manager III, you will be responsible for providing network operations support for a government agency in Qatar. Your duties will include:
- Operating, maintaining, and sustaining IP-based routers, switches, and standard AFCENT-approved operating systems on AFCENT network devices.
- Configuring Tier 2 routing and switching devices in accordance with SPIN-C.
- Designing and implementing network solutions to support new and emerging requirements.
- Providing responsive services, real-time network level configuration control, network restoration, and quality control.
- Supporting projects deployed by the NOSC.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Monitoring and sustaining network operations.
- Assisting the government in maintaining positive control over hardware and software.
- Maintaining hardware accountability using the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) and Asset Inventory Management System (AIMS).
- Ensuring equipment transfer is in accordance with AFH 22-123 SPSS and Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) policies and directives.
- Assisting government with packing and shipping of equipment.
- Being responsible for encryption equipment used on the network.
- Ensuring control and safeguarding configuration and ‘user-level’ maintenance of Ethernet and serial encryption devices.
- Coordinating with the COMSEC manager to ensure approved encryption keys are available for encryption equipment used on the network.
- Installing and maintaining network wireless equipment to support new and emerging requirements.
- Using AFCENT provided wireless network devices for routing and switching.
- Providing responsive services to include real-time network-level configuration control, wireless network restoration, and quality control and performance standards.
- Providing a heat map for the area supported by AFCENT wireless.
- Updating and submitting the Network Configuration Data Sheet and Tier 2 Network Diagrams for both NIPR and SIPR every month.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 6-9 years of experience in network design, maintenance, and operation.
- A SECRET clearance.
- 6 years of experience in designing, maintaining, and operating medium to large networks, as well as systems management, monitoring, and sustainment.
- Experience on military networks, including Cisco routing and switching technologies, managing networks with industry standard platforms, network performance analysis, Cisco IOS network configuration and troubleshooting, establishing new circuit requirements, and documenting network enterprise, developing continuity folders, and as-built drawings.
- IAT level II certification PLUS One or more of the following certifications:
- CCNP Data Center
- CCNP Enterprise
- CCNP Service Provider
- CCNP Collaboration
Preferred qualifications include:
- TOP SECRET clearance
